THE MBS IS REVAMPED AFTER MANY YEARS OF SUCCESS

The new MBS TS bridge saw is a technological evolution of the tried and tested MBS 3000,  produced by Achilli for over 10 years.
The MBS 3000 has excelled in the bridge sawing machine market for its structural characteristics, which have met the production requirements of many stone workshops. The strong points which have distinguished it are the sturdy and compact single block structure, the innovative bridge beam built to guarantee superior cutting precision, the motorised hydraulic roller table to facilitate slab positioning and the water recycling system which makes it an independent flexible machine.
The characteristics described above are the basis of the convenience and versatility of the MBS and have allowed it to prevail in the competition with competitive monolithic bridge sawing machines. The latter continue to rely on the shared sense of sturdiness connected to heavy frames, concept now surpassed by the innovations in the field of technology of materials. The MBS, in fact, contrasts heavy cast iron with lighter alloys, providing greater resistance to stress and chemical physical agents.
Many specimens of the MBS 3000 have been working for years and outpaced the test of time doing away with the last prejudice thanks to the craftsmen who have believed in our products, in the search for materials and technological innovation.
In 2008 our technicians wanted to expand the range of Achilli products relying once more on the MBS with a new revamped and technologically advanced model, the MBS TS.This time the small bridge saw, forerunner of the larger ABS and JBS models, has even greater ambitions.
Only the most complete work centres which adopt CNC technologies can handle complicated automatisms and realize processed pieces in marble and granite starting with software models. Our new sawing machine does not want to compete with such industrial systems but aims at automating and meeting the growing demands of the small-medium sized workshops.
"TS" stands for Touch Screen, a visual and intuitive control system, of the latest generation, without traditional buttons. Our system is a kind of “light CNC” which allows to control the machine practically and immediately.
The work of stone fabricators can start with the Touch screen with simple pressings of the screen. A slab can be loaded using the hydraulic lifting system of the machine and the positioning roller can also be started automatically. Once the slab has been positioned the cut can be decided with the laser or trough the functions of the cutting program. Our touch screen system is fitted with numeric control allowing surface profiling of the slabs, a characteristic which is found only in more costly CNC machines.
Our objective was to build a complete and compact “medium-size” saw which could satisfy the needs of small-scale stone fabricators at a reasonable price.
With the new MBS TS model we think this has been achieved.
